Opera North Percussion Academy

30-31 May 2022

This event has passed.

The Opera North Percussion Academy is a two day intensive programme for young percussion players to work alongside and learn from specialists from Opera North’s Education department and the professional players of the Orchestra of Opera North.

The Percussion Academy will provide an opportunity for young percussionists to make music together in a developmental and inspiring environment. The academy will explore the wide-world of percussion, breaking down and developing the idiosyncrasies of different percussion instruments, playing techniques and the specialities of working within ensembles.

The academy will be led by Opera North’s percussionists. Their professional and educational experience will ensure that participants are able to develop their technical skills and understanding of working within a percussion ensemble over the two-day course with a sharing for friends and family on the final day.

Read our Covid Safety Measures.
