Step into a 1940s Broadway hit, “a song and dance show with great heart” (The New York Daily Mirror).

Sam and Susan Cooper are trying to recall a time when their marriage was happy. They reckon it was around 1790… Follow the ups and downs of their relationship, as we drop into scenes of their family life spanning 150 years of American history. Sparkling vaudeville acts provide a touch of satirical commentary along the way.

With Love Life, Kurt Weill and lyricist Alan Jay Lerner (My Fair Lady) created a trailblazing piece of theatre that inspired musicals from Cabaret and Chicago to Company. This new production puts the orchestra on stage and part of the action, poised to dazzle with inventive orchestrations and hummable tunes.

Supported by, and recorded for release in collaboration with, the Kurt Weill Foundation.
