Double your donation to our Young Musicians Studio

Between 18 and 25 March, Opera North is taking part in the Big Give’s Arts of Impact challenge. We’re asking you to help us raise £10,000 for our Young Musicians Studio (YMS), which provides specialist musical training for budding young musicians in Year 6 and above. Through YMS, we ensure that enthusiastic young musicians don’t face barriers to learning their instrument as they progress to secondary school.

Why support Young Musicians Studio?

Many children lose access to music education when they progress to secondary school, with financial and social barriers making it harder than ever to access tuition outside the classroom.

Our Young Musicians Studio offers enthusiastic, committed young people the chance to develop their musical skills through instrumental lessons, ensemble practice, and musicianship classes. With bursaries available, and instruments for students to borrow, YMS opens up doors for talented young musicians everywhere to pursue their passion for the arts.

Your donations doubled by Arts for Impact

Opera North is delighted to have been selected to take part in the Big Give’s Arts for Impact campaign, in partnership with New Philanthropy for Arts and Culture.

The Big Give recognise that arts and culture can have a huge, meaningful impact on lives – whether through improving mental health, decreasing loneliness or providing those who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity with access to fantastic arts experiences. Arts for Impact will match all donations made via the Big Give platform between 18 – 25 March, meaning that your donation will make double the difference.

New Philanthropy for Arts and Culture (NPAC) is a network of arts supporters, who are passionate about increasing philanthropic support of the arts and culture. Working in partnership with the Big Give, NPAC has been helping to secure match funding and supporting arts organisations to prepare for their campaigns.
