Opera North’s Youth Company and Youth Orchestra play a vital role in nurturing young musicians on their journey to become the world-class professionals of the future. With regular rehearsals and performances, mentorship from our very own Orchestra and Chorus, and exposure to the working life of a busy opera company, our youth ensembles offer an invaluable springboard towards a lifetime of music making.

With full bursaries available, the Youth Company and Orchestra have opened doors to young musicians far across the region for the past thirteen years, whatever their background or circumstances. The dedication and passion instilled at our home in Leeds will remain with them for life.
