Audio described performances include a live description of the visual elements of the production delivered through a headset. This information is minimal and carefully timed so that it does not detract from the music.
Selected performances are preceded by a touch tour. These give audiences the opportunity to touch instruments, costumes, set, or anything else that can provide additional context for the performance.
Audio Introduction
An introduction to the visual aspects of the production is sent to all bookers prior to the show as an MP3 or CD (please specify at the time of booking). This information is repeated through the headsets 15 minutes before the start of the performance.
The audio introductions for The Magic Flute, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Ruddigore now available. Large print transcripts are also available to download.
Discounts
Customers booking for the audio description may be eligible for discounts in some venues so please contact the box office in your chosen venue. You can also then book on the touch tour and reserve a headset.
Large print and braille formats
Large print casts lists are also available on the night, and in braille on request in advance.
