Experience a Jamaican ‘Nine Night’ with literary activist and theatre maker Khadijah Ibrahiim. This thought provoking performance explores Caribbean rituals around death through poetry, music, ghost [duppy] stories, featuring turntablist DJ NikNak and Paulette Morris. The event also features performers from the Sunday Practise with their creative response to living through the last six months.
Dead and Wake is part of Connecting Voices, a collaboration between Leeds Playhouse and Opera North bringing together a collection of new and classic work celebrating the power of the human voice. You can enjoy one event or book for all six, tickets will be limited and information will be shared with bookers about changes we have implemented to make the theatre experience safe according to government advice and Covid-19 guidelines.
