Zoe Rahman
Colour of Sound
This event has passed.
Bringing together her background in classical music, her love of jazz, and her British/Bengali heritage, Zoe Rahman has established herself as a deeply singular player on the international jazz scene.
2016’s Dreamland saw her playing everything from Duke Ellington to Rabindranath Tagore with an exuberance that felt like it couldn’t possibly be the work of just one musician.
Returning to the Howard Assembly Room following two joyous performances with Courtney Pine, Rahman will be performing material from her latest album The Colour Of Sound, one that sees her leading an ensemble of outstanding musicians to explore the furthest reaches of her creative ambitions.
“Her sound is drenched with originality – a world class artist, composer and performer… Zoe shines as one of Britain’s most powerful compositional voices and important contemporary artists.”
