Music Ambassadors

Music Ambassadors

Music Ambassadors is a training programme for teachers and early career artists who wish to develop their classroom music and creative skills.

“Excellent- the best course I have ever been on. I learnt so much and the children have actually benefited as it could actually be applied in class. Thank you!” Teacher

Opera North Education works in partnership with Music Leader Yorkshire to deliver the Music Ambassadors training scheme. This training course is split into 2 parts; part 1, led by a professional animateur, focuses on singing and how to transfer these skills into the classroom and part 2 develops and expands upon these skills, introducing other art forms into the training. In part 2, participants work with an animateur, director and designer to learn new and creative ways of working with a classroom of children. The course ends with a final performance of an opera created by participants with help from the professional artists they have been working with.

Music Ambassadors Part 1 will take place over a period of 5 twilight sessions in Leeds and Bradford (TBC) from January to March 2011.

Music Ambassadors Part 2 will consist of 6 twilight sessions in Leeds from April to July 2011.
