In Harmony Cover Tutors

In Harmony Opera North is an inclusive, year-round, programme of high quality and engaging group music education and performance opportunities at Opera North’s partner schools, providing weekly group instrumental (strings and brass), choral, EYFS/KS1 musicianship lessons and provision in SEND settings.

Musicianship Lead

Opera North are seeking an inspiring educator to join our team as a Musicianship Lead. In this role, you will plan and deliver a year-round programme of high-quality musicianship and music theory within the Young Musicians Studio and Young Performers Studio. Working closely with the Young Musicians Development Lead, you will help design and implement a progressive curriculum that promotes musical excellence and provides development pathways for young people from all backgrounds. This role requires a strong understanding of classroom pedagogy, knowledge of Kodály practice (or a willingness to learn), and the flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Please note the successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK or be ready to obtain it. Because this post involves regular work with children, an Enhanced DBS check is required.

Instrumental Learning Team Tutor (Strings)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled musician to join our Instrumental Learning Team as a Strings Tutor. In this role, you will plan and deliver high-quality group music tuition within our Young Musicians Studio, helping young people from all backgrounds realise their musical potential. Responsibilities include integrating musicianship and ensemble playing, tracking participant progress, and offering musical guidance to children, staff, and parents. This flexible role requires a commitment to a high-quality group teaching model, with rehearsals and workshops occasionally taking place during evenings and weekends.

Please note the successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK or be ready to obtain it. Because this post involves regular work with children, an Enhanced DBS check is required.
